Tactics vol. 1 and Elemental Gelade vol. 1 June 28, 2006

Tactics is the first series that I’ve watched completely in fansubs before it being released on DVDs. I never thought it would be released here either, after what ADV did to it but when I found out it would be I was really happy.
First the show itself, obviously I enjoy it. This is what I said once when someone asked about it: it’s a fun show to watch, the end is sad, the manga is better. Yeah its fun, if you like demon of the week type shows even if they can be goofy and sometimes just lame or if you liked winged bishounen and slashy subtext I think you’ll probably like it.

No I won’t be there… At first I thought about making a whole post about how I’m pissed I can’t go to Anime Expo and it feels like the whole world is shoving it in my face. Then I decided against that, bitching won’t do any good so instead I’m going to try and guess some of the things that will happen at AX, it’ll be fun… well fun for me of course, completely uninteresting for anyone else.
Manga Shopping, Shojo Beat and Angel Diary 3 June 26, 2006

I went to Borders today and bought the July issue of Shojo Beat, Angel Diary 3, Bleach 13, Kaze Hikaru 2 and the Blood novel (maybe there’s more then one? I got the first one I saw). It was really crowded and there were a whole bunch of kids in the manga section. The lady at the cash register was the same person who was there the last time I bought a bunch of manga, which was only two weeks ago, it was kind of embarrassing. She said she was up to episode 62 of Bleach, I told her I stopped watching it when the fillers started (which was around then actually I think). She also mentioned that it was coming to Adult Swim but that it wouldn’t be the same because it was dubbed and I told her that I already knew and that I was really looking forward to it. Oh and when I was looking at the manga I saw that Viz is changing some of their spines. I noticed it on volume 8 of Fullmetal Alchemist, ack it’s like the biggest, ugliest V I’ve ever seen in my life. It made me want to buy that volume even less; they’ve changed the way FMA looks twice now.

I’ve been getting a lot of packages lately because I’ve been buying too much stuff! Today I got four magazines in the mail: May and June Animage and April and June Animedia. They’re a few months old so all the pictures have already been scanned and all that but seeing them in the magazine was better. It was the first time I got Japanese anime magazines (I have a couple manga anthologies) and I learned something, Japanese magazines are hard to read if you can’t read Japanese :p Really I bought them for the furoku and the pictures.

I said I would make a whole entry about shows I’m getting on DVD but after looking at the currently airing shows entry I realized it would end up being too long and boring so instead I’ll just write about the volumes as I watch them instead of listing all the shows

After being lazy I’m back, this time I’ll do some real reviews, as real as I get heh I obviously suck at them…
This time I’ll begin with the bad! Last time I wrote about manga I began to review Crossroad 3, well actually I wrote more like a rant about it and Tenshi Ja Nai. I wanted to read the whole thing because I liked some characters and I wanted to be able to write about it properly. Well I tried reading it and I just couldn’t. All the characters started pissing me off; I don’t like any of them at all any more. Seriously I got so mad about it I actually threw the book down and then put the whole series in the draw where I put series I’m not buying any more. This is the first time I’ve ever felt so strongly about a series, I’ve never been so mad at a series!
So yeah Crossroad 3: Thumbs down!

I got a bunch of anime and manga today but I’m too lazy to do reviews right now so instead I’ll post this. This really isn’t a summer preview, there’s only a couple of shows I’m very interested in and so I’ll only write about those. Who knows maybe they’ll be some suprises for me this season but so far it’s just these two.

Well my internet connect is totally messed up but I still don’t want to leave my computer so get ready for a bunch of random entries that I typed on Word and then posted in the five minutes that my connection decided it was going to work. So butchered Japanese names and all that… hehe on the plus side the English should be pretty good. This entry will be for shows airing in Japan, I’ll make another post for shows I’m getting on DVD. This is going to be a really silly post filled with fangirl rantings more suited for my livejournal but because it's very anime related I'm posting it here instead, not like it matters because the same amount of people will read it no matter where I post it: 0
OK so I was looking around ANN at the Blood+ page when I saw it! The first VA for the English dub of Blood+ Kari Wahlgren. At first I thought, what is this silliness? Where did they get this from, someone probably just made it up! So I looked on her webpage and there it was. She is doing the voice and even better the recording started this month! I don't know how long it takes to record things and I don't know if Sony intends on having the whole thing recorded before releasing it but it gives me hope. I hope that they'll start airing it this fall and I can watch it on TV in English with an awesome dub! Which now I think it will be. I think Kari is a great choice for Saya. Hmmm who for other characters? Maybe Steve Staley will be in it… maybe he'll be Kai! Heh then maybe all of my dreams will come true!
It's really late but this news made me so happy I don't think I'd be able to sleep if I didn't write it all down somewhere. Yes Ryan's live is sad…
Also I actually have real updates already written but I just didn't want to post it all at once. Yes someday I'll make this in to a real blog and post the feed somewhere and then maybe just maybe someone will read it

I went on a crazy manga shopping spree today and this is what I’ve read so far. I havn’t been shopping in so long and there was so much to choose from! I was all ready to buy like 11 volumes of manga, but I realized that was just too much so in the end I ended up getting six, the four Go Comi series, Skip Beat 1 and Aishiteruze Baby 2. So yeah lots of shoujo, I had my eye on a few shounen series as well but I ended up passing them up for later. I’ll put my impressions under the cut… (more…)
