It’s totally been more than a year and a half since I updated or even looked in this place? So what happened? Well honestly I started blogging near the end of my Anime obsession and within the last year I’ve fallen completely out of it. The last full anime series I watched were Mushishi and Ouran Host Club, I no longer buy or download series, and probably won’t until something that REALLY interests me come out (I didn’t even buy Mushishi D:).

Since anime I’ve been though a few things:
1. Tenimyu and other musicals- This is of course related to anime and manga and I’m actually suprised I never wrote about it here when I was obsessed because it defintely started in 2006. I was so crazy about all of the guys involved with it too! I’ve also pretty much fallen out of all of that as well.

2. Toku- I was especially interested in Kamen Rider and I still enjoy it but I’m not as crazy as I was once about it.

3. Johnny’s- This is my big one now and I’m serious about it, like I was about anime. I’ve been in to it for a solid year now so to some people, I’m still a complete newbie! My favorite groups are Kanjani8 and the KinKi Kids, I also really love some junior groups… mostly Kansai Juniors of course!

What is my point to writing this? I doubt anyone is reading this but this is like a confession to myself. I have not watched anime outside of whats on Adult Swim in a very long time. I’m done with it. Something that consumed so much of my time and energy for more than 2 years, I’m done with. However I’d like to continue using this blog as a fandom blog, and if I find a totally awesome anime series I’ll still blog about it!

Hmm first off forgive me for using the word hot, I had to, I love using silly words don’t take it seriously… I almost used hawt XP  This is also basically a list of shows I’m watching this season, not like it matters because I probably won’t bother blogging any of them.  So now: TOP 5 HOTTEST GUYS OF THE NEW SEASON

1. Akizuki (Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto)- I’m in love with the character designs in this show!  I love everything about the way Akizuki looks, his clothes, his hair, his :-[ face.  As for the show itself, I have not seen the fansubs yet but it is pretty and it looks really interesting!

2. Gokudera Hayato (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!)- I guess this is cheating a little bit because I’ve only seen up to the second episode and he hasn’t been in it too much yet but I know I like him from reading the manga.  When he first comes he acts tough but he’s really just cute… or like Yamamoto says a funny guy hehe.  Yeah this show needs subs.

3. Suzaku (Code Geass)- You can all have Lelouch and his awesome eye, I’ll take Suzaku   I love Clamp’s character designs and for some reason I like Syaoran 4.0 the best, he seems kind of like a goodie goodie but I actually like that.  Evil Fai (Clovis) is kind of cute too but, I’ll leave it at that.  I look forward to seeing more of Suzaku the most.

4. Allen Walker (D.Gray Man)- Allen is probably my favorite Shounen Jump main character, I have not read too much of D.Gray Man but I couldn’t imagine coming to dislike him.  He’s cute, polite and not annoying at all… the complete opposite of most Shounen Jump main characters!  He’s a little girly but really cute.

5. Edo (Ayakashi Ayashi)- Well he’s the hottest guy in the show!  Yuki is OK but he doesn’t quite do it for me right now and Edo has this huge gun which makes him automatically cooler.  Yuki’s weapons are really cool too but Edo is still prettier.  As for the show I really like it, it gives me the same “I don’t know what just happened but I REALLY want to see the next episode!” feeling that Eureka Seven does.

Runner Up

Yoshimori (Kekkaishi)- I didn’t feel right calling Yoshimori a hot guy because he just isn’t BUT I am defintely watching Kekkaishi and the show IS hot plus there are some cute guys that show up later (the snake teacher? HOT hehe).

I just realized that none of my guys look happy at all heh I could have picked some different screen caps but I’m too lazy to go back now.

Hello I’m writing here from beyond the grave.  Ok no really I actually ended up getting kind of busy with school even though I said I wouldn’t.  Then everytime I did get a chance to write I got all caught up thinking about what I would write about and then not writing at all.  I thought I should write about new shows and then I thought I should write about shows that I just finished watching but the thing is I’m pretty behind and I haven’t finished watching all the shows I wish I had finished.  So then I’m just going to write about EVERYTHING I’ve watched and nothing I haven’t.  Er near the end it gets really short…
Ouran Host Club 26

Ouran ends!  I liked the ending a lot, I knew it wouldn’t end with Haruhi and Tamaki getting all lovey and I’m happy it didn’t.  I really don’t know why people would want it to end that way, it’s not that type of show.  But at the same time I also like that in the last couple of episodes they showed that Haruhi did actually have feelings for Tamaki.  All around it was nice, I’d like to see more but the ending seemed very much like a complete ending to me.

Innocent Venus 8

WOW.  Just wow.  I knew Jin would betray Jo, what with all the foreshadowing and the mask in the opening but I really didn’t think it would be in this way.  When he stabbed Jo and went with Drake I was really suprised.  I thought his betrayal wouldn’t be so serious, like that he’d so it in such a way that later on he would see the error of his ways and come back to the good side and then we’d all forgive him.  After what he’s done now there’s no way he’ll be forgiven.  I think he’ll probably die in the end.  Also I think he was always crazy, he didn’t just go crazy, he purposely mislead everyone in to thinking he was nice when he never was.

D. Gray Man 1

This was one of the shows I was looking forward to this season and I liked it a lot.  I love Allen, he’s one of the few Shounen Jump main characters I really, truly like.  His voice was cute.  The opening and ending were both really good.

Death Note 1

I have mixed feelings about Death Note.  I like it but at the same time I don’t.  I hate Light but I like his voice.  The opening is great and the animation is nice.

Code Geass 1

I’ve only watched this raw so I can’t say much about it.  I was kind of worried that after being so excited about it while knowing next to nothing about it I would hate it, actually I was so worried about it that I couldn’t really enjoy the first part of the episode but by the end I wasn’t worried any more!  I think I’ll love it!

For some reason (laziness maybe…) I’ve been having a really hard time writing an entry. It’s not for lack of things I want to write about, because wow there are lots of things I want to write about so many that when I sit down to get ready to write something I can’t even pick what I want to write about. Whatever, I’m going back to school on Tuesday (ahhh tomorrow!!) but that probably won’t effect how much I write here (which is almost never anyway). So I’m going to write about something real easy, the shows I’ve been watching lately.Blood+

I fell behind in Blood+ so I caught up today by watching episodes 43 to 45…

Episode 43

Ok I act like I really hate Hagi but I don’t REALLY hate him. Who do I really hate? Solomon! Oh yeah he’s cute, but that means nothing. He is really horrible, sure leaving Diva and his family to be with Saya seems sweet or romantic or something but he’s not. He doesn’t give crap what Saya wants he just wants to be with her and the only reason he wants to be with her is because of his blood, and they’re suposed to reproduce with each other. Its not romantic at all! Then he goes on to be incredibly cruel to Hagi, who Saya cares for very much which goes even further to show how little he cares for Saya’s feelings. One thing I really don’t get is how Hagi having wings is his true form, so everyone else true froms are ugly monsters but he looks like the same only with wings?

Episodes 44 and 45

These episodes were extremely hard for me to watch because I knew how it was going to end. Lulu is cute, but at the same time she’s so homely… I like the Sif a lot as characters so I don’t really want to admit this but the show did a horrible job with them! I think they were just added in so that there could be some characters to kill off, who’s deaths wouldn’t have an important influence on the plot. But even if that is true I’m a sucker and I still loved them. I liked Moses and Karman’s relationship. Although I was a little bit disapointed that Moses was tricked by James so easily and then quickly turned against Kai, but I understood. Moses and Karman’s relationship was similar to Kai and Saya’s, in that they care deeply about each other and would do anything to help the other one, Moses was desperate to do something to help Karman so he did what he felt he had to. It was nice that Moses and Karman died together, standing in the sun, at peace and not painfully like James had wanted.

So, five more episodes. How the heck is this thing going to end?! I also want to add that I like the Kai/Saya pairing (actually I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before) and I don’t find it creepy at all. They lived together for a year, they didn’t even have the same last name (where does the name Otonashi come from anyway?), I hardly think that makes for incest. Kai really loves Saya and has nothing to do with his blood or anything, he just loves her… he also makes for a good wife At this point though, I’m really starting to think that the writers don’t even know who they want to be together.

Ouran High School Host Club

For this I watched episodes 20 and 21. Both of the episodes focused on the twins and I enjoyed them a lot even though they’re certainly not my favorite characters. It’s sad but I don’t think I really realized how much Tamaki loves himself until episode 20, with the whole “loved by god” thing, it was so funny and my favorite part. With these two episodes I really like what the anime is doing, at first I kind of didn’t but they added so much to the Halloween episode that liked… Except for Renge who actually was in the Halloween chapter but less annoying. Episode 22 looks like it’s going to be really good! I can’t wait to watch it.

And that’s all I really have to write about anime… but today I saw the first chapter of the Code Geass manga, it’s not translated in to English though so I have no idea what was going on but it looked good. I liked the art, not as much as I would if it was drawn by Clamp but it’s still nice. I liked the way the eyes were drawn. Leloch looked good but Kururugi (or at least I think that was him) looked very different from the anime. I really wish I knew what was going on. Kururugi (again I think it’s him!) looks like he got shot. Leloch has some sort of weird eye, I know Clamp only did the character designs but maybe it put everyone involved in a Clamp state of mind or something.

I’ve been reading so much manga lately, I thought I might as well write about some of what I’m reading. Also for some reason I had a really hard time writing this entry, I didn’t bother checking spelling so I’m sorry it’s so terrible!!

New Series

Kekkaishi volumes 1-4- This is a series I had read a lot about on certain message boards so when there was a sale on Viz manga I decided to order the first two volumes. I liked it a whole lot! So much so that I decided to go out and get the next two volumes as soon as I could. I also forced my little brother to read it, he enjoyed it as well. I really liked Yoshimori, the wanting to build a castle of sweets thing is cute. I like Tokine too even though she seems like a bit of snob. The fourth volume was very good, I cried while I was reading the story about the pastery maker and his brother… yup if a manga can make me cry I know it’s good!

Omakae Desu volume 1- I think my favorite part about this was that the main character is in college! Heh, I don’t see that a lot! Most of the time characters in shoujo (and shounen) are in middle or high school and I feel like a creepy old lady (I’m 20…) but the main character in this is 18. The art style was nice and I liked the stories. I’m looking forward to reading more but I’m really not crazy about the new female character introduced at the end she’s kind of annoying and it seems like her part will be pretty big.

Yakitate!! Japan volume 1- This was something I was interested in ever since I heard about it. It looked funny and I liked the character designs. I just didn’t like something about it, I can’t quite place it but I didn’t even feel like reading the whole book. In the end I did but I really don’t know if I’m going to continue with this series. Though when I look at it I’ve already preordered the second volume, so I’ll probably try to keep with it.

Old Series

Young Magician volume 5- This series is really messed up! I keep on expecting it to get clearer as it moves along but it never does, with every new volume it gets more and more confusing and weird. Even so I can’t stop reading it, at the end of every volume I’m dying to know what happens next. This volume’s ending wasn’t quite so much of a cliff hanger as other volumes though. I can’t really explain it, that’s how strange it is…

Ouran High School Host Club volume 7- The stories in these volumes were recently in the anime. I didn’t really think there was too much of a difference in the anime version of the Kyouya story exept for Renge (who’s like totally awesome and who needs to be added to the anime all the time stealing Tamaki’s lines cos she’s like way cute and… sorry), the dog and the ending (heh actually now that I think about it…) I have not seen the episode about Honey’s brother but I heard they took out Mori’s brother which stinks because he was really cute and funny. I liked it, it’s pretty much the same as all the other volumes fun to read and all that.

Newtype Romance

Actually I put that in the title but what I really mean is random summer anime magazines I bought to look at the pretty pictures because I can’t read Japanese. I recently got the July Animage, the August Animedia and Newtype Romance. The September issues are out now but I don’t really care I like buying the older issues. No pictures or scans or anything because everything from them has already been scanned. Animage is so cheap seriously they use the same pictures of Athrun and Kira on everything all the time. Animedia had a cute Ouran Host Club pin-up.

Now I go through the whole magazine and write about it for no reason at all:

Anyway I wanted to write about Newtype Romance the most because I really, really liked it, much more then the other two. First of all I really love the cover, it’s Yuuri from Kyo Kara Maoh and he looks really good, heh I have it right next to me the way his eyes are he looks like he’s stareing at me There was a board from Harukanaru Toki no Naka de but I’m not interested in the series at all. There are a few pages about Kyo Kara Maoh, some in the manga/novel style and some about the PS2 game… I want the game, manga and novels here in English NOW. I don’t think the game will ever come but I have hope for the other two (Tokyopop PLEASE), but I bet the license costs a lot. Next there’s a bunch of pages about Tales of Saiunkoku with the four main guys and they all look very cute/pretty (I need to start watching this series again I feel guilty now).

After that there’s an article about the main character of Hack G.U and an interview with Takahiro Sakurai (ooh real man he’s not particularly good looking though. He doesn’t smile in any of the pictures, but that’s good… I’ve seen his teeth hehe of course I still love him!) Then there’s a art section (?) I liked the characters I THINK their names are Nagi, Rinrin, Takahashi and Mashimaro they were very cute. I also liked the little pictures by popular mangaka and artists, Clamp drew a picture of Watanuki and Doumeki, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto drew Shinji and Kaoru, the artist of the Eureka Seven manga drew Dominic and Renton, and five different artists drew Blood+ in the end I couldn’t figure out who all of them were, Yun Kouga drew Hagi and Riku, Hirotaka Kisaragi drew Kai and Hagi (looking very handsome heh), the artist who drew the character designs and the ending animation drew Moses and Karman, the other two pictures were Moses and the first Shiff who died (the guy with the long blonde hair) and Riku getting ready to bite in to Kai’s neck (hawt XD). Yeah so I was clearly obessed with that section.

Heh all that and I’m not even halfway though the magazine! There’s a cute section about brothers that totally spoiled me about Eureka Seven (I’ve only seen as far as the Adult Swim showings). Then there’s a part about new anime, this includes: Shounen Onmyouji, which looks pretty good, Code Geass, which I can’t wait for but the picture they have for it looks kind of ugly, La Corda D’Oro that I wasn’t even interested in at all until I saw these pictures… those guys are really cute, the Kekkaishi picture they have looks better then most of the art I’ve seen for the series so far. The next few pages are: Naota and Naoya from Night Head Genesis (looking cute), Kyouya, Tamaki and Tamaki’s dog (OT3 XP no not really…), and the two main guys from Gakuen Heaven (why does that series suck so much? Oh wait hehe).

Ah then I come to another section that I’m obsessed with. First the list of top 30 guys (most of whom I actually managed to figure out!). Why is Hagi so popular? He was the only one from Blood+ to make the list, he was 3. I was really suprised Rey from Gundam Seed placed so high (8) because I never see anything about him, he’s really cute so I figured he would be popular now I know he is and I’m glad. I was also suprised that Yuuri (from Kyo Kara Maoh) came in so low (6), most rankings I see usually have him at 3 or 4. Conrad (14) is more popular then Wolfram (19) :’( My favorite characters Ginko and Watanuki came in at 16 and 28, I was happy they made the list at all! Then there were a bunch of mini lists that drove me insane because I couldn’t figure out what any of them were for, really I looked at the pictures and I tried to figure out what all the characters in the lists had in common but I couldn’t!

There was a section about video games, some of them looked really nice. I wonder if any girl’s dateing sims with cute art will ever make it here? Tokemeki Memorial Girls Side 2 characters look kind of fugly but there were a couple of other games featured that look really pretty. There was a little bit about Jun Fukuyama who IS very cute (I liked him with long hair…) Then there were some pages about Gintama, Bleach, Prince of Tennis, Air Gear, Kiba. Then interviews with Masakazu Morita (Ichigo!!) and Tomokazu Sugita.

Shhhhhit I wrote SO much about it, much more then I though I would! I just started and kept going and going and going. Hah I don’t think anyone read that whole thing but I did have fun writing it. But now it’s really late!

I’m so lazy, I got tons of manga recently and I’d like to write about some of that but I can’t bring myself to do it yet. Oh well…

Innocent Venus 4

I was looking foward to this episode a lot and really it wasn’t as awesome as I thought it would be. But then again I don’t know what I really expected from it. Jo coming to get Jin was really cool, it also showed that even though they’re always winning and are really great at everything they can still be outsmarted. I like Toraji too, I was glad we learned about him but I hope they show more about him in future episodes like his motives for leaving phantom and such. I guess what I was disapointed with was the fight between phantom and Jin and Jo, it was OK but nothing great. I decided that I don’t like that big muscle guy or the knife guy in phantom, I kind of want them both to die I like Steve and tarot guy (Chinran?) though. Also this episode pretty much showed that Gora will never die, he annoys a lot of people but I like him and his voice so I’m glad he didn’t die… especially after what happened on Blood+ this week :’( The next episode looks pretty cute.

Night Head Genesis 2-4
This show is weird! Weird! Really weird! In the second episode was creepy, actually all three were pretty creepy. I really thought that guy that Naota paid to fix his car was going to steal it but then that didn’t happen. Naoya spent most of episodes three and four screaming his head off, I felt bad for the poor guy. Naota drives very well, this still gets on my nerves, this and the crazy amount of money they have… I really think I’m going to have to start making up a story about how he learned how to drive and how he got a bunch of money. In the first episode there was a woman who worked at the center that had a picture of her and Naota, she liked Naota and she taught him how to drive then when Naota and Naoya were breaking out the mugged a lot of the workers and took their wallets and keys. So now they have a car and crazy money the end. Yes now I’m satisfied. The weirdest thing is Shuuko, what is up with her? Floating in space? I’m interested in the next episode. The preview makes it seem like the things we have seen about Naota and Naoya’s childhood might not have happened.

I keep on telling myself, “It’s too early to get excited about Fall shows!!” I know next to nothing about any of them and most of them aren’t starting till October but still I can’t help it. So what shows am I really, really looking forward to this Fall?

Code Geass- I LOVE the character designs, yeah I know Clamp! It’s pretty sad because when I think about it that’s really the only reason I want to watch it. All the art that I’ve been seeing from it looks really nice. Also FLOW is doing the theme song and I really like them. There’s already a trailer up for it and the animation looks nice (well duh they would put the absolute best animation in a trailer, wouldn’t they?) I hope it’s as good as I want it to be. One thing though, the name is driving me up the wall! I want it to be Code Gears so bad, that I’ve totally convinced myself that Geass is engrish oh sure I could be wrong and Geass could mean something very important to the plot but the way they say it in the trailer does sound like Gears and I pronounce Geass and Gears the same (heh I have a Boston accent, so why does it matter so much to me?).

D.Gray Man- I have not read very far in the D.Gray man manga and I know that those who have are saying it’s too early for an anime but I’m still looking forward to this. The character designs look nice and it has Takahiro Sakurai in it so that makes me happy. The animation is being done by the same studio that did Aishiteruze Baby, that makes me a little worried.

Buso Renkin- I’ve only read the first volume of the manga. A lot of people really don’t like this manga but I kind of like it. I think it’ll be cool animated. Jun Fukuyama is doing the main character’s voice.

Death Note- I’ve read the manga up to a certain point when something happened to a certain character. I really wonder what they’re going to do with it. Also where they plan on ending it. I want to watch it but it could be really boring.

Ayakashi Ayashi- This is the new Bones anime. The character designs are done by the same guy who did them for Cowboy Bebop. It looks kind of historical, which is good. Other then that I don’t know anything about it! The main character doesn’t look cute though which is a shame because I like cute characters!

Kekkaishi- I just started reading this manga and I really like it! I think it’ll look really cool animated. I am a little worried though because the character designs don’t look so hot on the website for it, especially the boy.

Asatte No Houkou- I’ve been seeing pictures from this for a while and it looks really cute, so I want to see it.

Shounen Onmyouji- I don’t even know if this is coming out this Fall. I’ve been hearing about it for a long time, I thought it was supposed to come out in the spring and then in the summer but it never came. So maybe this fall? I like boys, I like Onmyouji so I really want to see it!

So many shows! I probably won’t even watch all of them, not because I’ll be busy with school but because I’m lazy.

Doing reviews and stuff is boring, making lists is fun! So I decided to have some fun and make a bunch of lists of my favorite characters woo As fun as it was it was kind of hard too because my favorite characters change every day and I’m always forgetting some of them but I tried.

Top Ten Favorite Anime/Manga Characters

1. Fai (Fay, Fye) D. Flourite (Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE manga)- Fai is the one character that never changes places on my list. He’s been my favorite character ever since I started reading Tsubasa and I don’t see it changing any time soon. There have been times when I’ve doubted how good the Tsubasa manga is but I would read anything as long as Fai was in it. He’s so much fun! He’s just a pleasant character to read about.

2. Ginko (Mushishi)- I feel a little bad putting Ginko so far up because he’s newer to the list then many of the characters below him but how could I not place him so high? He’s so cool.

3. Watanuki (XXXHolic)- At first Watanuki comes off as loud, annoying and not entirely likeable but what I like about Watanuki is that throughout the story he really grows. I think he has calmed down a lot since the beginning of the manga, and he’s gotten cuter and cuter

4. Shannon (Scrapped Princess)- I like Shannon cos he’s a very devoted older brother who is an awesome fighter, I love watching him kick butt. He is the only character I own a figure for…

5. Sai (Hikaru No Go)- Sai is so cute! How could I not love him? He’s funny. And he’s a ghost, ghosts are way cool.

6. Tamaki (Ouran High School Host Club)- My favorite thing about Tamaki is that he is honest, or at least he thinks he’s being honest. He really believes in everything that he says, even if it isn’t the truth. Is that even honesty? Whatever he’s cute.

7. Wolfram von Bielefeld (Kyo Kara Maoh)- I like his pride and how he really takes his role as Yuuri’s fiancé seriously.

8. Chris Amalite (Scrapped Princess)- He is a bit of a jerk for most of the anime but I really liked him anyway.

9. Subaru (Tokyo Babylon/X)- Mostly I liked him in Tokyo Babylon. He was so innocent and cute. Most of the time I don’t care much for goody goody characters but I liked the way hw could connect with other people and how kind he was.

10. Moses (Blood+)- He makes this list but not Kai? Er yeah. I like how much he cares for his friends and how cute he is

After making that list I felt bad for not including any ladies so…

Top Five Female anime/manga characters

1. Yuuko (XXXHolic)- She has really neat powers and she’s pretty obviously a yaoi fangirl

2. Major Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell: SAC)- I’ve only seen the first movie and the TV series. Mostly I like her in the TV series because she’s really strong and kicks lots of butt.

3. Haruhi (Ouran High School Host Club)- She just doesn’t care heh and yup that’s cool.

4. Yoruichi (Bleach)- Kicks butt blah, blah, blah cool and so on.

5. Hikaru (Otogi Zoshi)- A very strong character, likable all that.

Favorite Pairings

Het

1. Ichimaru and Matsumoto (Bleach)- I think it’s because I’m cruel or something but I love them together.

2. Ginko and Tannyu (Mushishi)- My favorite episode of Mushishi was the episode Tannyu, I just think they were really sweet together and it felt nice.

3. Xiaolang and Sakura (Cardcaptor Sakura and Tsubasa)- Alright this is a pretty boring pairing but I like it anyway.

4. Renji and Rukia (Bleach)- I like the whole childhood friends thing. I think Renji really, really loves Rukia and I’d rather see her with him then Ichigo. Nope not even Ichigo coming to the Soul Society and saving her could change my mind about that.

5. Tsuna and Hikaru (Otogi Zoshi)- This one makes me kind of sad, Tsuna loves Hikaru so much but she just doesn’t see it.

Yaoi

1. Kurogane and Fai (Tsubasa)- For the longest time I did not care for this pairing which is odd because obviously I love Fai. But it’s grown on me so much, especially with the most recent chapters… I mean seriously Clamp what? Oh and I hate Fai/Chii with a passion…

2. Kakashi and Iruka (Naruto)- Yes this could very well be the worst pairing ever, maybe there’s no grounds for it in the manga or anime but I don’t care. I liked this pairing before I liked Naruto and I like this pairing more then I like Naruto.

3. Domeki and Watanuki (XXXHolic)- Like KuroFai this one took a while to grow on me but it has.

4. Touya and Yukito (Cardcaptor Sakura, Tsubasa)- I like this just because it is and that’s all.

5. Kyouya and Tamaki (Ouran High School Host Club)- Yeah this is the worst. I don’t care much for either of them with Haruhi (I think I like Mori/Haruhi or Hikaru/Haruhi) and I’ve seen some really nice fanart.

1. Neji and Hinata (Naruto)- I don’t know… they’re cute together or something.

2. Gwendel and Wolfram (Kyo Kara Maoh)- Probably more at the beginning of the series then during the series, when they both didn’t like Yuuri. I’ve seen some nice fanart hehe and also the manga.

I’m so lazy, I could post here more then once a week but I don’t. Why? Just because I’m lazy.

Innocent Venus

I love this show so much! So much that I actually went and downloaded the raw for episode three, which is something I usually never do for a show. The animation is certainly not flawless, I mean when is it ever? Sometimes their faces look really messed up. Some people really hate the CGI but I don’t mind it at all, I think it looks absolutely fine. I also like all the mecha and weapons. The heavy suits are really interesting, it took me till the third episode to finally look at them closely and realize that they have four arms. What I can’t figure out is if the smaller arms are really the pilot’s arms inside the suit or not, sometimes I think definitely not but other times I think it’s possible. My favorite scenes in episode two were the scene between Jo and Sana when Sana wanted Jo to talk and he wouldn’t and when Jo and Jin beat the cops. My favorite scene in three was when Jo was carrying Gora around like a rag doll… I’m sure I’ll add to the scenes I like when I can actually understand it.

Also I love the opening. I’ve probably watched it like 20 times. The song is great and I just like the way it looks. The way they have Jin’s eyes colored blue and Jo’s eyes red sort of reminds me of Saya and Diva from Blood+ heh it’s weird.  My favorite part is Jin’s part with the mask and gloves. I think in the future Jin is going to be a really, really interesting character.

The next episode looks like Phantom is going to come and fight. I like watching Phantom, Jo and Jin fight so watching them fight against each other is going to be AWESOME.

No I haven’t abandoned this… sorry I’ve been pretty busy lately but not too busy to watch some of the new summer shows. So I have some short thoughts on some new shows.

Bokura Ga Ita

This was one of the shows I was really looking forward to this season because it’s made by Artland and directed by Akitaroh Daichi.

The feeling of this kind of reminds me of Mushishi, it could be all in my head but it’s a nice relaxing show to watch just like Mushishi was. It feels nice and it looks nice. I enjoyed watching the first episode a lot. The only problem I could have with it is that I don’t care much for stories where the main female is stupid and the main male is potentially abusive but so far I hate the characters a lot less then I thought I would.

Night Head Genesis

I heard that when this was shown on TV the first two episodes were played on the same night. After seeing the first episode I really wish I could see the second one right now! It was really lacking something. I liked the back story of the brothers and I think the whole psychic power thing is really cool. The character designs are done by You Higuri, and yes she definitely draws some very cute guys. The problems I had with is were that the animation seemed kind of shaky I guess, I just didn’t like the way it looked a lot of the time and I really hope it doesn’t get any worse! Also the darn car scene! Ok I guess they stole the car, or that’s what I assumed but how did Naoto learn how to drive? I thought maybe he learned from watching but when would he have that chance? Unless he learned when he was very young, who knows? And the brotherly love, first I don’t have any fangirl delusions that something will happen between them but that’s ok because I hate incest but it’s there darn it!

Innocent Venus

I love this guy (on the right) and I don’t even know his name:-P

The animation was really pretty. I love the character designs, not all of them are attractive but the main characters (Jin, Jo and Sana) were very cute. Jin’s seiyuu is Takahiro Sakurai and he’s my favorite seiyuu so that’s a plus. Gora has the same seiyuu as Moses from Blood+, his voice is cute but he’s pretty annoying. I really need to watch the episode again because I think there were parts that I didn’t totally get. I think the set up for the series is interesting though and I’ll definitely try and follow the series.

Between Comic Con and Anime Expo there’s been loads of new manga releases announced, I’m really excited about a lot of them so I decided to go through all the ones I’m at least a little bit interested in. It looks like my wallet will be crying for years to come

Broccoli Books

E’s by Satoru Yugia- I’ve heard a lot of really good things about this. I tried watching the anime but I didn’t like it too much but I’ll definitely try the manga out, the art does look really nice and sometimes that can be enough to get me to buy a whole series!

CMX

CMX announced a bunch of titles that I’ve never even heard of but some of them look interesting to me anyway…

Apothecaries Argentum by Tomomi Yamashita- I really love the way the art looks, the story seems different. I’ll definitely try and pick this one up.

Time Guardian by Daimurou Kishi and Tamao Ichinose- The art in this one looks nice and the story sounds interesting too. Sometimes I can’t help thinking that if separate people work on the art and story then both will be better developed so maybe it’ll be really good.

Dorothea and Variante both look nice but I’m not really sure if they’re quite my thing, I’ll take a look at them though.

Kitchen Princess by Miyuki Kobayashi and Natsumi Andou- I don’t know anything about this at all but it looks kind of nice.

Mamotte! Lolipop by Michiyo Kikuta- The art looks like typical shoujo and the plot doesn’t sound like anything great but it still looks cute and I really want to try it out.

MUSHISHI by Yuki Urushibara- YAYAYAYAY WOOOO hehe I knew they would come out with it eventually but I’m happy they did now. I love Mushishi and I’m really looking forward to getting it… early 2007 isn’t TOO far away…

Shugo Chara by PEACH-PIT- I’ve never read anything by Peach-Pit and from what I’ve heard they’re really not that great but for some reason I’m still interested in this. I’m even more interested in Zombie Loan…

I’m also excited about the Tsubasa character guides, I’m so happy that they’re releasing them. The more Tsubasa goodness the better.

Go Comi

The Devil Within by Ryou Takagi- This one seems weird. I don’t know, I’m pretty sure I’ve read some yaoi from this mangaka and I don’t think I liked it very much. In the end I’ll probably end up getting it anyway!

Black Sun, Silver Moon by Tomo Maeda- I own the last book that came out from this mangaka (Beyond My Touch) a lot of people didn’t care for it but I liked it so I’m definitely getting this.

Both of these series are from Wings, if I could read Japanese I think Wings would be the phone book I would buy because I’ve liked almost everything I’ve read from it.

Tokyopop/BLU

Gakuen Heaven by You Higuri- Ugh I’m going to try with all my might not to buy this. I’ve managed to completely not watch the TV series. It’s just SO cheesy (I feel stupid calling a yaoi series cheesy, most yaoi is cheesy, but the thing is sometimes it’s the yummy type of cheese that I really love and can’t stop eating even though I know it’s bad for me but other times it’s the yucky type of cheese that I don’t even want to go near. Gakuen Heaven is yucky, yucky cheese.) But the power of You Higuri’s cute boys might compel me :’(

Shinsengumi Immon Peacemaker by Nanae Chrono- YES, I’ve been waiting for the first series and also the continuation of the second series and now it’s coming. I love the art and I love that the mangaka names the chapters after Beatles songs (if I’m remembering right) so I’m really looking forward to it.

Tactics by Sakura Kinoshita and Kazuko Higashiyama- Another series that ADV dropped that I love. The art is really nice (I even own the art book) and it seems pretty funny from what I’ve read so far. Hopefully TP will do a better job then ADV.

WILD ADAPTER by Kazuya Minakura- I think I’ve written about how happy this makes me before. When I started reading this all I could think of was “Why hasn’t Tokyopop licensed this yet?” I’m glad they’re publishing it under Tokyo Pop and not BLU because it does run in a BL magazine but I think it can appeal to people who don’t like yaoi at all and that people who are really in to yaoi (ok, ok rabid yaoi fangirls) might be a little put off because nothing happens in it (if you know what I mean ;-P). I hope Tokyopop looks in to licensing the alternate series as well (the Executive Committee one, which I really like because it’s lighter then WA and a more fun).

They announced quite a few series I’ve never heard of and am too lazy to look up, some of the cover art looked cute so I might be interested but I’ll wait until I’ve seen more information about them.

Viz

Gentleman’s Alliance by Arina Tanemura- This is another one I’m going to try not to get. I mean the art is really pretty but so far of what I’ve read I just don’t like Tanemura’s manga too much. It’s too sweet and cutesy for me, I never thought that would be possible but it is, and I don’t care much for the characters. It’s still on my interest though because of the art and who knows maybe I’ll like this one.

Gintama by Hideaki Sorachi- The anime can’t get subbed so I might as well read the manga. I think I tried reading the first chapter a while ago and didn’t care much for it, I’m willing to give it another chance though the anime is fun and the manga is usually better anyway.

Lovely Complex by Aya Nakahara- The cover art looks nice and almost everyone is saying it’s good and funny so I really want to read it.

Millenium Snow by Bisco Hatori- I’m not overly crazy about Hatori’s art style and the whole Host Club manga seems to busy and cramped but I still like it. So this should be pretty good too, I think it’s more serious then Host Club.

There are also a couple of other Shonen Jump series coming: Houshin Engi and Dragon Drive. I don’t really know too much about either but I like a lot of Shonen Jump series more then I should so I might take a look at them.

Other random manga news…

DrMaster says the next volume of Category Freaks is coming out in December, yay.

DMP says that J-Boy Anthology will only have one issue, this is kind of disappointing for me. I’ve never been too interested in yaoi from B-Boy because it seems to lean mostly on the yucky cheese side for me but I am interested in short stories (which I was assuming the anthology would be) and quite a lot of mangaka who I’m interested in have written short stories for Biblos, including Hinako Takanaga and Younezou D Yamada. I guess they also talked about the possibility of bringing more hardcore yaoi over, I’m not really in to that, but good for people who are…
